Fashion Shoot - Part 2
We conducted the 2nd fashion shoot for Passenger Boutique in October and have only just finalised the preferred images.
With the first shoot very much being about looking at different styles of portraiture we decided for this shoot to pick a style and then machine gun our way through a number of outfits. It certainly put a little pressure on both the model and photographer to maintain the 'freshness' of each image.
It was great to use a full colour (ocean) paper background as it allowed me to capture the whole outfit and gave me room to be able to work around the subject.
I used two large soft boxes at 45 degree angles in front of the model and fired a 3rd flash through a honeycomb grid onto the background to give some texture.
Having spent most of my photographic time in Connemara either by the sea or 'in and around' the mountains, shooting landscapes, it has been really good to work with a different subject matter.
Shooting fashion style portraits is something I've not been comfortable doing previously, but I now feel confident that with my new skills and kit that I would be more than happy to jump at the chance again.
Maybe I'll look into setting up a small studio…once I've a few more portrait sessions in the bag!
Once again a huge thank you to Helen at 'Passenger Boutique' in Clifden; Grainne at the Atlantic Hotel for the function room and Iwona for modelling the outfits.
